The MCoE hosted the Conference of American Armies Specialized Conference on New Challenges to Defense in the 21st Century from April 7-11, 2014 in Columbus, Ga.
The conference brought together leaders from 25 countries throughout the Western Hemisphere to discuss “the American armies, their contribution to peacekeeping operations, disaster relief operations and the new challenges of the XXI century to defense, developing procedures to facilitate cooperation and interoperability among the member armies, taking into consideration their legitimate differences in capabilities, roles and the legal framework of each country.”
The Conference of American Armies provides a forum for regional chiefs of armies to strengthen integration and cooperation, study problems of mutual interest, establish, and contribute to hemispheric security, protect against all threats to peace, democracy and freedom and enhance interpersonal relationships.
