Day three events at the 2012 Best Ranger Competition consisted of the helocast, water confidence test, a FRIES mission, a leader challenge and a buddy run to the finish line. The water confidence test is made up of a log walk and rope drop into the pond from about 35 feet. Then team members climb a 75-foot tower where they executed a suspension traverse into Victory Pond. Day three events at the 2012 Best Ranger Competition consisted of the helocast, water confidence test, a FRIES mission, a leader challenge and a buddy run to the finish line. During the helocast, teams waterproofed their gear using a poncho raft. Then they were flown by UH60 Blackhawk helicopter to Victory Pond, where they jumped into the water and swam to shore.
